Idea Description

A lot of us know people who are much older than we are. A lot of us understand that these people are lonely. But only some of us realize that we could actually talk to them.
I plan to develop a website which would allow (semi-anonymously) younger generation people to find/interact with older generation people who are willing to share ideas, give out advise, spread knowledge and shower worldly wisdom. If you are a doctor thinking about going to Africa, talk to someone who did that and learnt a lot of lessons from it. If you curious about business, meet an investment banker.
These are people who fear no one will remember them once they pass away, and their knowledge will be lost for good.

What will you do if you win $10,000 for this idea?

- Develop a website which is attractive for the younger generation, specially the 20-35 age group.
- Conduct surveys on information people are curious to know more, their common sources of such information and their interaction with their peers for such information.
- Marketing cost for 1 year to encourage both young and old people to join in.
- Integration into common social networking scenes like facebook, myspace, linkedin with semi-anonymous identities (like just the first name)
- Specialized cost-recovery where we would broker (with an aim to be not-for-profit) people seeking instant advise with people who are interested in providing instant advise.
