TRIMIT:triming hunger from around the world by processing excess/left over food, from households and corporate parties, to give to the poors
Idea Description
Vision: Build TRIMIT.org into a nationally and Internationally recognized Not-for-Profit organization with the intention of using excess/left over food from household, and corporate parties to process it, freeze it and then ship it to poor people around the globe using sponsored flights and cargo ships for this great cause. In addition to that, TRIMIT will also address the over-consumerism in the United States and elsewhere, which creates dietary and health problems.
Mission: Create viable non-for –profit business that will influence the average person to get involve and participate in shrinking hunger from around the world and at the same time eliminate obesity in the US and elsewhere.
What will you do if you win $10,000 for this idea?
Make flyers to promot the concept.
rent a facility with Walk In coolers and freezers to start the proces.
rent a van to pick food from homes, resturants and businesses..etc.
Vote for it now.
Would you determine the amount of money the trimmed food cost or would the restaurant?
Thanks for this great question. Well it be determined based on the actual cost value of the portion donated (that is the cost paid by the restuarnt) + small % of the retail value of that portion donated. You want to give the resturants the options and flexibility to choose from different programs. You also want to give them the motivation to participate in this concept. So the advantage for them is 1) publicity in participating in this good cause. 2) tax diductible 3) the cashh equivolant of the portion donated by the customer will not be donated at the retail value (what being charged to the customer) but rather the resturant cost. Both the customers and resturants end up being part of this great cause.
