  I applaud your idea and know first-hand how necessary this is in developing nations. But I'd encourage you to think through the logistics of it: how are you going to get the books to the schools safely and duty-free to the schools? There is so much red tape to get around with customs, further complicated by corruption that goes from the seaports right down to the deisgnated delvery person. Is there a trusted NGO in the Phillipines that you could partner with to get these books to the schools?

  Love this idea. Are you strictly seeking new books? I have a ton of great books I'm happy to donate. And I"m sure that many of my friends would do the same!

  You might be able to get companies like Barnes and Noble, and Borders to donate. Additionally, you could look into partnering with Amazon to acquire unsold books for donation.
