Idea Description
There are health care practitioners throughout the world that are actively involved in patient care but not in research. Millions of collective hours of study in physiology, immunology, virology, etc., remains untapped as we pursue cures for many diseases. A health care provider, like myself, continuously has "what if" ideas that enter their minds as they care for their patients. Unfortunately, there is no easily accessed and professionaly reviewed depository of these ideas. Therefore potential treatments and cures are never brought to life for life. This internet based forum would accept categorized ideas that would then be reviewed for merit and referred to known researchers.
What will you do if you win $10,000 for this idea?
I would team up with medical research facilities throughout the world in establishing an internet based forum where ideas can be categorically presented, searched, and reviewed for merit by participating members and staff. Promising ideas would then be referred to the most appropriate research facility that deals with the paticular disease. I would solicit federal and private grants to enhance the staffing and effectiveness of this international "think tank". The site would also highlight its achievements as new discoveries are brought forth.
