Idea Description
Typically, college scholarships are awarded BEFORE the student starts school. I propose that a scholarship fund be set up to award scholarships to students AFTER they have graduated and have perhaps assumed sizable student loans. The trustees of the fund would then be able to evaluate how the graduate actually did in school - did she do well in college? did he work part- or full-time? etc. These hard-working students, I think, should be considered for a grant to ease the financial burden after a job well-done with little or no assistance. They've proved their worth.

Split it among my four children who worked their way through college and are now paying off student loans.

I highly in favor of this!!! I get harrased everyday for defaulting on my student loans My hardship deferrment didn't go thru.
