City Kids Travel Foundation- Organizing and Sponsoring Travel/Study Abroad Trips for Inner City Youth
Idea Description
“City Kids Travel Foundation” gives the gift of travel to students who wouldn’t otherwise be able to travel aboard and learn another language. CKTF helps children in low-income neighborhoods travel, study and do volunteer work in different countries. CKTF programs assist students by organizing fundraising efforts, obtaining corporate sponsorships and arranging group trips to countries around the world. Students learn valuable skills like taking ownership of an idea and bringing it to fruition and learning another language. Social responsibility, self generated initiative and organization are a few of the virtues CKTF instills in traveling students.
What will you do if you win $10,000 for this idea?
I would use the $10k to cover the initial administrative costs of promoting the program among teachers and potential donors:
- File for 501(3)(c) status
- Create website to inform potential participants, teachers/administrators and donors about our program
-Create and print collateral and other marketing materials to promote program
- Hire an assistant to book speaking engagements with schools, help organize trips and organize fundraising events
