Help the environment, use less petrolium, double car mileage using car generators to perform electrolysis on water, making hydrogen fuel
Idea Description
Start a business (franchise) converting automobiles to run partially on hydrogen generated from water using the car's generator. Feed hydrogen and oxygen from electrolysis of water into air intake to suplement fuel. Mileage can double, gas burns cleaner, so less pollution. Exhaust is water vapor. This has been done (search internet) but needs to become widespread to have a national (less foreign oil) and global (less polution) impact. Anyone with auto-mechanic skills could become an entrepreneur. I would make it easy to set up businesses converting cars.
What will you do if you win $10,000 for this idea?
Develop the ideal, low cost system that can be retrofitted onto any car or truck. Develop a web site and training center for people to become entrepreneurs and help others to start up their own car coverting business.

Check out the market price of the amount of hydrogen equivalent to a gallon of gas. Then note that the price will only increase. See: http://knol.google.com/k/michael-foster/the-hydrogen-car-hoax/2on0cj1ivesbw/2# for The Hydrogen Car Hoax. Find those that have found the price and that have done the measurements on energy input compared to energy output.
The only thing that comes to mind when I think of this is my Chemistry teacher asking us how the hydrogen would get in the car! He said the only way would be if they developed a closed system in the intake that would have a place to insert a "brick" that is infused with hydrogen atoms. The only problems are that hydrogen reacts with everything and has to be "contained" somewhat and how would you put it into your car? Liquid hydrogen is below zero degrees (freezing) and hydrogen gas would disappear in the air! But I'm so excited about the hydrogen car ideas...I can't wait to tell my kids about my first hydrogen car ;)
