Idea Description
The College Blog Network is a free discussion platform for college students and professors across the United States that makes it easier to tap into their college's local blogosphere and to find bloggers at other schools. Anyone can view and browse, but only those with a valid .edu email address can comment on blogs, rate other blogs, and list their own (if they have one.) Among the hundreds of millions of blogs out there, it's difficult to find bloggers at specific colleges and to avoid clutter and splogs. TCBN is rapidly growing, featuring new schools and blogs daily!
What will you do if you win $10,000 for this idea?
Our $10k would be used to develop the community and reach out to other schools through on-campus guerilla marketing and online advertising. We would also use the money to purchase more bandwidth and to cover our increased operation costs. We're college students who run the site on a shoestring budget. Ten grand would cover a lot...
Vote for it now.

I really like the design of your site and can see the idea being very worthwhile for people that do have time to blog a lot and read others who blog a lot. I do agree it is hard to find people who talk about similar things happening on campus. If you could incorporate a rating system for people to rate which blogs they like or even just have a big list that would move a blog to the top when someone clicks on it or leaves a comment would be cool too. Good luck.
Great idea! I could see categories for the different majors, fraternities and sororities. I think it will be huge. Got my vote!
Thanks for all the support! We're working hard on a sick new redesign that includes a new voting algorithm, friending, upgraded search, RSS feeds, and mobile content--should be up in the next 2-3 weeks.
Good idea! Blogs are the future of information as far as we see it! Keep up the good work and good luck!
