Idea Description
A program similar to the popular guitar hero video game except that it uses buttons on a real guitar under each fret. The game would be similar to the video game except it would have multiple fret lines moving from right to left at real time keyed to actual songs. The program would operate similar to the video game but teach you the instrument on a real guitar.

Hmmmm... skip the proprietary hardware, there are MIDI capable guitars already on the market. Simply create the teaching software so that it can interface with a MIDI port. and perhaps offer packages that also include inexpensive midi to USB translators and possibly an inexpensive guitar as well as a software only version.
This should greatly reduce your development costs. and also make it easier to expand your line to include bass, keyboard, drums etc... Heh, i have even seen MIDI capable violins, banjos and saxophones, you could theoretically mod your software to work with any instrument that has a midi capable version on the market.
