Idea Description
Film festivals for women are mostly about trauma, troubles and overcoming victimization. But there are a lot of funny women making movies, just no place for them to be seen. The Broad Humor Film Festival is the only place where films are both female AND funny.
What will you do if you win $10,000 for this idea?
The films are funny, but there is no way people can see them outside our festival. Audiences love these films, but the industry does not. So we want to find a way to package and distribute these films so that everyone sees how enjoyable the works of women are, that their spirit and style enriches the culture at large. The industry will change once it sees the audience is there, and we will all be the richer for it.

Hi there! Great idea. WE definitely need more films with funny women! I'm a programmer for a film festival here in Los Angles, and it's crazy how few female comedy submissions I see! And I'll tell you, the ones we program go over huge! If you have a second, feel free to check out our listing for Patron of the Arts, and lend your support (and vote) if you feel compelled.
