Idea Description

My idea targets two problems: large numbers of unsold homes and declining charitable contributions in a tightening economy. This business would solicit homeowners who cannot sell their homes for a price higher than their mortgage and tax debts. We would offer to raffle the home for the benefit of the homeowner and a local charity. The goal is to sell enough tickets to pay the homeowner's obligations with a significant amount of money left for the charity. Marketing costs would be kept to less than typical brokers' fees and nonprofit fundraising costs.

What will you do if you win $10,000 for this idea?

Next steps would be to (1) develop interest among nonprofit groups; (2) identify at-risk homeowners; (3) test pricing models to maximize sales of raffle tickets. And, of course, lay the legal groundwork to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
