It's difficult to capture a child's attention for subjects like history. It's hard for them to see the relevance of a person who lived in the distant past to their life today. I'd like to create "blogs" for historical characters. In other words, highlights from George Washington's life might become blog entries with "pics" and favorite music from the time period. Students would get to experience a historical character as a person who has hopes, disappointments, friends and family. In other words, use creative blogs to create connections to today's students.

What will you do if you win $10,000 for this idea?

The $10 K would do several things for this idea.

1. Begin development of some sophisticated blog layouts that would capture the attention of young people.

2. Give the idea credibility to leverage further development with educational resources such as publishers and teacher groups.
