Spare Change E-Commerce Charity
Spare Change E-Commerce Charity
Idea Description
This is a charity working with E-Commerce websites Amazon, Wal-Mart, Microsoft etc to offer their shoppers the opportunity to round up their cost to the nearest tenth of a cent with the increase going to charity. Example: say some movies on Amazon cost $10.43, Amazon would offer their shopper the opportunity to round up to $10.50, a 7 cent increase. This 7 cents would go to charity. Millions of E-Purchases happen every day. Multiply this by an average of 5 cents per purchase would equal millions of dollars a year for charities at no real cost to the consumer.
What will you do if you win $10,000 for this idea?
1. Write the non-profit business plan.
2. Start talks with online E-Commerce websites such as Amazon Wal-Mart or Best Buy.
3. Start talks with participating charities.
4. And finally, start the charity and begin helping those less fortunate than ourselves.
Vote for it now.

Q1: 1. Raising Capital to get started
2. Aside from my existing connections with some online E-Commerce websites, I would like as many sites as possible to participate and the challenge is getting more sites to participate to grow the charity.
I really like this idea! Good luck.

that is a great idea..litte drops of water make an ocean..few pennies from a lot of people will really sum up to something really big for the less priveleged
Love it man, keep it up.
I think it's well structured idea and it should bring a large sum of money for those in need.
If you don't get the $10,000 I don't know who will!
We should talk. I'm finishing a documentary on homeless children in LA. Let me know.
I think it is a great idea and should bring much money for those who need it most.
check out penny-on as well. i haven't heard much from this UK-based organization in a while but cents add up to millions for sure!
I think its a great idea...I love charity. Still, I think Kiva.org makes the most sense for these large corporations. Check kiva.org out...its really cool. I made a microloan myself!
A suggestion to encourage charitable donation is that instead of offering customers the option of upping the cost from, say, $10.43 to $10.50, have the E-Commerce sites automatically adjust their prices so that every sale leads to a donation. Instead of offering customers the option of donating 7 cents, make the companies automatically include the 7 cent donation and offer customers the option to donate more. Also, it helps the companies with their image, saying that a portion of every sale made goes to charity, etc. etc.
