Social Networking Website: Searching for a job? It's all...
Social Networking Website: Searching for a job? It's all about who you know!
Idea Description
Most everyone knows and is active on Linkedin.com, but we at huyuno believe that there must be a better way to present oneself and one's portfolio of work. The typical resume format is not very dynamic. huyuno would allow members to upload documents, videos, screenshots of web work, and even music to their profiles. Not everyone works in finance...there are creative types out there with creative experience that demands a more dynamic way of presenting itself. When networking and especially looking for a job it's all about Who You Know. Let people get to know the Real You...with huyuno!
What will you do if you win $10,000 for this idea?
I've made a number of connections while working at two other social networking startups. I will use $2,400 to $3,000 on the initial web build and final logo design. I already own the domain! An additional $2,500 (approx.) will be spent on an in-house web designer. Up to $2,000 will be spent on an outsourced web app. for use on facebook with which we hope to leverage to increase membership and activity. If any money is left over...hopefully a contest of sorts for our new members!
Vote for it now.

Any comments/advice would be greatly appreciated!!
I'm starting a blog to track my progress and post interesting articles, questions of mine, etc. Please feel free to check it out by going to http://www.huyuno.wordpress.com/
I've spoken to the person helping me build the site and after discussing my needs with him in detail the cost is really closer to $15,000! As such, $10,000 TOWARDS the idea would be almost necessary for me to get this company off the ground. Nevertheless, I'm still very excited at the prospect of starting this company and have instructed the web design team to develop some mock-up pages for me. I will see if I can't share these with all of you later next week when I get them. Best regards, Brennan (huyuno)
I think that your idea is a good one! I am semi-retired now, but the technology today provides so much more in the way of an indepth "Resume" prior to a contact. I wish you well in this endeavor!

I've transferred the domain to another host and will try and put a blog up soon to track my progress.
work on your blog some more and get crackin'! this is an AWESOME IDEA!!!!!!!!! I'm in the internet space myself and would ABSOLUTELY use this. Linkedin is boring as sh*t!
I've changed the DNS...huyuno.com is up and live BUT it's just a blog right now until I finish the wireframe and get it started!
Thanks for letting me know! This is a great idea! I think a lot of people about to graduate from college would benefit from something like this, especially if you integrate Facebook. If you could find a way to network with prominent employers/business owners to connect them to your users, you would be golden!
This is a great idea! I don't understand what the name means though. Maybe a more user-friendly name would help increase marketability.
huyuno...who you know...it's what matter when searching for a job. Still, I understand where you're coming from. I'll definitely need to do some market research. huyuno.com is up right now! but....the social network isn't!! :) coming soon!

I'm fortunate enough to have worked at a couple of sites before so I've met a lot of people pretty organically, nevertheless a phone call or email out of the blue has gotten me a lot of new connections in the past. Most successful people love to network and even provide detailed feedback. If you ever want to chat about your idea feel free to email me at brennan@huyuno.com.
