  Yes the public would like this concept and as canoefeet stated dont worry about the other auto repair operations because they are your competition. the one question i have is what qualifies your company for 501c3 status? Will the be an NPO that provides for those less fortunate or are you just looking to provide a low cost alternative the the lower income people. There are several things that you must do to receive 501 c 3 status you can find out information herehttp://www.irs.gov/charities/charitable/article/0,,id=96099,00.html
  
  this should give you a staring point to figure out if you qualify as an NPO. if you plan on doing this I suggest developing a business plan so that you can present to companies to receive funding
