Hobby Newsletter
Hobby Newsletter
Idea Description
I developing a newsletter. This newsletter is geared towards those who enjoy the hobby of entering sweepstakes. Many are senior citizens others just want companionship from someone who understands their hobby. They write in each month with what they have won and what is going on in their lives which is published. We have a PenPal club so they can contact each other. It has been well received and I use the theory of positive thinking and my legal background to help them.
What will you do if you win $10,000 for this idea?
I would use the money to purchase better duplicating equipment and also apply the money towards the hard costs of producing the newsletter so that I would not have to raise the price for the subscribers for many years.
Vote for it now.

Q1: My biggest challenge right now is keeping the cost affordable to these subscribers and still cover costs of production. Even raising the price 25 cents would put some of them out of subscribing due to fixed incomes.
This sounds like a great way to keep seniors busy. They are often in need of projects and hobbies to keep them from getting extremely board. And having a community with a common interest and age is great for them. Especially the fact that they can communicate with each other.
Your biggest challenge is keeping costs affordable which is definitely very possible. The only thing is that you would need to create a website. Now your members can message each other without having to mail in their responses. You could still mail out the newsletter however often you do it just so they have something tangible.
But I can see how this might be difficult for some of your members, especially the seniors. Because there's a good chance that they are not computer/internet literate.
But if you got enough of them to use the website then you could allow advertisers to put up a few ads so that you could make a little bit of money to cover some of your production costs.
