Provide Educational Tours and Training in our Manufacturing Plant.
Idea Description
We are a custom manufacturing business that would provide school tours for kids to see how their learned skills are put into practice. We would demonstrate how to get a finished manufactured product from flat material. Starting from reading a sketch and dimensions to calculating component parts, to cutting, assembling, polishing, packaging and the like, you'll experience motor skills, coordination, mathematics, etc. What you learn with pleasure, you tend never to forget! This will be a perfect opportunity for handicapped and disabled teens and adults to get the training and practice of factory work here in the states.
What will you do if you win $10,000 for this idea?
With the initial funding we would upgrade our newly expanded facilities to be visitor friendly and handicapped accessible. We will then be able to accommodate the calls received from local school administrators to tour and show the manufacturing process. With most of the manufacturing done overseas, observing our production team will open a new world for the students. We would send them home with a souvenir which would indirectly work as a great advertising program for our company. Therto, we would provide supplies and parts for their school arts and craft to work with afterwards

As someone very involved with online manufacturing education ,there is a real need to bring more people into the manufacturing community. With the skills labor shortage increasing every day, the manufacturing community (which is still alive and well in the USA even though the media does not know it) needs people from every aspect of life to the part of it. Great idea.
Great Idea! I would love to visit a manufacture factory, proberly interesting to watch how the machines work and produces products. Hope you'll win, and I'll definitely take along my kids and family. (hope you're not far from my community).
