I have read through a lot of ideas and this seems like the best one to me, by far. I played in a few bands as a youth and I feel like we lacked the ability to get ourselves out there - to really appeal to a mass amount of people. If music listeners from all across the nation could have heard my music, I think I could still be living my dream today. Kicknote seems like a bigger, better purevolume, and purevolume has rocked the music world. All of you music fans should take some time and think about how smart of a vote this is. watching artists live in the studio would be great! record companies seem to be fading judging by the recent radiohead album and that whole aftermath, hope you guys can step in and continue the trend!
Creating a voting system is tricky. You will likely want to do some kind of "kicknote" worth. Be clear on the weight a vote from the judges counts and the weight of a user, as it will need to be clear to a user how much their vote counts. Or you could do it the american idol way and just use the honor system.
