Idea Description
Video production can be a form of therapy for teens in detention centers. If given proper supervision and training, young teens can express themselves through short videos. They could make their own social commentary, news casts, interviews and music videos. Why not post their accomplishments on the web? These kids need more than water color painting and group conversation. Video production is the key and a marketable skill.
What will you do if you win $10,000 for this idea?
There is a training facility in Adrian, MI that is co-ed. I ran the idea by one of the directors and he loved it. But with budget cuts in our troubled state the concept is just a good thought. I would gladly use the money to start a program at the school and provide proper supervision and training. If I could do that for them I feel that a new field "video therapy" could start getting roots and even create jobs for young video producers.

how about putting up a website, organized by 'troubles' and then have video clips of teens or young adults that have struggled with the same issues and have had victory over them share their testimonies and encouragement for those going through them now. would be a great resource for a youth center, detention center, etc to give kids hope from people who they can relate to and who actually relate with them.
