First-Time Homebuyer Marketing/Education to help relieve the stress that comes along with purchasing a home. Since there are not many classes offered in my area, I would love to be able to help people feel comfortable with the largest purchase of their life!
Q1: Will people be willing to read through the information and attend a class?
What do first-time homebuyers want/need to know that they aren't typically told?
Who would be the best target markets for the classes and packets of information?
Idea Description
I would like to grow my real estate business by implementing special marketing and education classes for first-time homebuyers to make them aware of issues, ensure they are receiving all the information they need, and allowing them to make EDUCATED decisions when buying a house. The process is SO complicated and there are many aspects that are confusing or that first-time buyers just don't know, so educating and marketing to them about the risks, rewards and other aspects would help them make their decision. I currently live/work in Southeast Minnesota and would implement this idea first in my local community and, if it took off, would love to expand it to other areas of the state!
What will you do if you win $10,000 for this idea?
To create a folder full of great information that only ASSISTS first-time buyers, not overwhelms them. I would use real-world language, not the long, legal terms seen on most forms/contracts so that buyers can truly understand the entire process, from viewing homes, to financing, to closing, to tax time. I would also create a classroom-setting education seminar, free for first-time buyers AND the general public to learn more about the home buying process.
